Covid surge forces new hospital visiting hours

Lexington Medical Center has updated its visiting policies due to increased covid cases. The new policies effective

The new policies effective Monday are:

• At Emergency Department and Urgent Care Centers, 1 visitor is allowed to accompany a non-covid patient.

If the lobby reaches capacity, visitors will not be able to stay with patients.

Visitors must stay in the patient’s exam room at all times and may help settle the patient into a room if admitted.

Please use the direct entrance to the emergency department or urgent care center.

• For non-covid inpatients, 1 visitor is allowed between 8 am and 2 pm and

1 visitor per patient per day.

Depending on a patient’s location, use the main or south entrance.

Visitors must wear masks at all times, including when in patients’ rooms.

• A spouse or support person is permitted while the patient is in labor or has just delivered a baby.

Visitors are asked to use the main entrance of the hospital. 1 visitor, not including the

1 visitor, not including the spouse or support person, is allowed to visit the mother/baby unit 8 am - 2 pm with 1 visitor per patient per day.

• In the Special Care Nursery, the birth parent and her support person are allowed. Both must have an infant identification bracelet.

Enter through the main entrance.

• In Surgical/Procedural Areas (inpatient and outpatient), 1 visitor is permitted in the specified lobby during a patient’s surgery or procedure at the main campus and all other LMC facilities.

A visitor may help settle the patient into a room if admitted.
