The continuing summer heat did not affect the large attendance at the Chamber’s outdoor Businees After Hours at Library Hill Lane last Thursday.

Guests gathered to network and enjoy the delicious buffet provided by the hosts.

Among those attending were Gary Deese, Otis Rawl, Paula Calhoon and Donnie Myers, JR Fennell, Lee Pitcovich, Dot and Jim Manning, Jake Bozard, Cindy Harris, JoDee Douda, Jo Counts, Bunny and Don Hagenlocher, Kate and Roger Hansen, Suzanne and Kent Flowers, Mike Anderson, J.R. Caughman, Sonya Gettys, Connor Watkins, Ron Harrell, and owners and staff of the host businesses.

Congratulations to Tripp Sorenson on his Eagle Scout project.

He led a group of fellow Scouts from Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in building an outdoor classroom in an undeveloped area of the Lexington County Museum. They cleared a 72-foot-long path to reach the site of the classroom, which is 28 feet by 38 feet.

The group is to be commended for carrying out helpful community projects through this Scout program. Tripp is the grandson of David Lever of Lexington.

Thrills, chills and wonderful food await you at the S.C. State Fair. Take in the arts and crafts shows, gather the winning recipes, see the farm animals and take a heart-stopping ride.

The Lexington County Museum offers its Lexington Haunted History Oct. 13, beginning at 8 p.m. at the Icehouse Amphitheater in Lexington. There will be stories of crimes and mysteries from the past. Attendee should be 18 years old or have parents permission.

Turning Pages literacy group is holding an Italian dinner Oct. 23, 7:30 p.m., at Sapri of Lexington. Call or text Miriam Calamaro at 610-405-0676 for information.

Marge Carter reports that the Lexington County Family and Community Club, formerly Home Extension Club, will meet Oct. 13, 9:30 a.m., at St. David Lutheran Church.

According to reports, our state Sen. Katrina Shealy appeared on the TV show, The Price is Right last Tuesday. She was in the bidding sections of the program.
