Four students from Lexington-Richland School District 5 have been named Carolina Master Scholars.
Sullivan French, Dutch Fork High School; Surya Swaminathan, Irmo Middle School; Christopher Targia, Dutch Fork Middle School; and Robert Wolff, Spring Hill High School were part of the 16th graduating class earning the designation Carolina Master Scholar for their successful completion of at least three Adventure Series courses.
The Carolina Master Scholar Adventure Series is a summer academic program for academically talented or gifted rising 6th-12th graders.
As a result of their accomplishment, the students were recognized by the USC Alumni Association and given a special certificate from the University.
Students completed courses ranging from Forensic Science, Law & Crime, Medicine: Ultrasound, Health Sciences, Vex Robotics, Creative Writing, Pharmacy, Graphic/Digital Design, Aviation-Learn to Fly, Be a Pilot, Computer Gaming, Business-Entrepreneurship, Cooking and Nutrition, Filmmaking, Anthropology, Art, Aerospace, Speech Pathology, Web Design and Development, Women in Engineering, Extraordinary Chemistry, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, and Neuroscience.
The program will offer a wide variety of week-long academic courses again this summer. Online registration is now open.
