Do you have a Springdale story?

AROUND CAYCE, SPRINGDALE & WEST COLUMBIA

Springdale Mayor Michael Bishop says there is a lot of activity going on in Springdale and he is soliciting help.

Springdale is putting together a video documentary of the town. Town leaders will be reaching out to people in the next couple of weeks to do a brief video interview.

Bishop said they are looking for people who have lived in Springdale for a long time or lived in Springdale years ago. They are also seeking people who just have a great story about Springdale they would love to share.

Springdale wants to record the story of how things used to be and how things have changed. For those participating, there is a list of questions you will be asked. The questions shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to answer.

The first video will be shot Saturday (Feb.

9) from noon until 2 pm at Springdale Town Hall. If you are willing to contribute, please call Mayor Bishop at 803-920-4074.

Bishop said Springdale wants to implement a beautification committee. Springdale is currently working with Cayce and the Columbia Airport to beautify the Airport Boulevard corridor. He said lots of help is needed. If you are interested in helping or are willing to help coordinate this project, contact Bishop.

The Midlands Coin Club holds its monthly meeting on the second Thursday of every month. Join your fellow collectors at 7 pm at the Cayce Historical Museum. The next meeting is March 14. Enjoy a program or show and tell, short business meeting and auction. The public is welcome.
