Are you still paying off student loans?

You’re not alone.

Over 45 million Americans have amassed $1.5 trillion in student loan debt. That’s trillion with a “t.”

A recent Wallethub.com study found 10.9% of all student loan debts are delinquent or in default.

It found South Carolina to have the 19th highest student debt across the 50 states and District of Columbia.

We’re 4th highest in student debt-to-income. Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas were higher. Mississippi also placed 3rd for highest unemployment rate for people ages 25-34.

Overall, South Dakota, Pennsylvania and West Virginia had the most student debt. California, Hawaii and Utah had the least.
