While on lockdown, the men worked on yard beautifications and home remodeling projects. With the Governor’s order to reopen hair salons, spas, nail salons and gyms, we women are happy. We get to work on our beautification projects like haircuts and hair coloring. We get to restart body-remodeling projects at gyms with weights and classes. Our hairstylists and gyms will make us beautiful again!

One of the things that I enjoyed on the lockdown was the silence.

Since the traffic stopped on the busy road where I live, I could actually hear nature’s sounds. We have lots of animals’ around my house with our cats, cows, bunnies, chickens, a dog, and the foxes and coyotes hiding deep in the woods. We now have an albino skunk. Late one night, someone saw our cat playing with it in our driveway. Nice!

YOU CAN ENJOY wild animals at Eudora Farms in Salley, SC, with a drive-through Safari with 20-25 exotic animals from around the world. Go to eudorafarms.net for more safari information.

Saluda Shoals Park is now open to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of nature. Backyard Saturdays are back at Saluda Shoals with hikes, programs and more. To join our Backyard Buddies mailing list, email rkennerly@icrc.net. I encourage you to enjoy the sound of silence.

The Irmo Town Council re-opened the Community Park Sunday, May 17. However, the restroom facilities will remain closed.

Families are invited to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and stay safe by observing the proper social distancing.
