AROUND TOWN

Hundreds of local families received food baskets from SC Electric & Gas employees and retirees last week. Toys were provided for families with children through the annual Good Neighbor Fund Christmas Project. The fund is a nonprofit organization run by SCE&G employees to provide financial assistance to families facing unexpected tragedies or emergencies. Since 1983, the fund has assisted more than 12,400 families with donations of more than $4.6 million. More than 20,100 baskets have been delivered in South Carolina and North Carolina. 100% of all donations go directly to help families in need.
