Irmo Fire crews along with area fire crews rescued 6 people in an Irmo apartment fire Wednesday.
2 children were dropped by their mother from the 3rd story and were caught by bystanders.

Family jumps from 3rd floor to escape fire

Irmo Fire crews along with area fire crews rescued 6 people in an Irmo apartment fire Wednesday.
2 children were dropped by their mother from the 3rd story and were caught by bystanders.
The mother also jumped and suffered a leg injury. The mother and children were transported by EMS.
8 apartments were damaged by the fire and these families have been displaced. The Red Cross was on scene assisting the families.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
