Farmers Market helps the hungry

The SC Farmers’ Market in Lexington County has $25 food vouchers for low-income senior citizens.

The offer is available through the SC Department of Social Services.

The voucher is available for qualifying participants in 42 counties, including Lexington and Richland.

To qualify you must be a low-income senior 60 or older, have a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID presented at pick up and live in a participating county.

Visit www.dss.sc.gov to complete an application.

The time to apply will continue through May 25.

Vouchers will be distributed at a later date, and used this summer.
