Nearly 4,800 children await foster homes in South Carolina.

A shortage of foster families decreases a child’s ability to remain in their community. This often delays permanence for children.

The South Carolina Youth Advocate Program is a private not for profit organization. SCYAP helps children with emotional and behavioral problems, most have been physically abused, severely neglected, and many have physical, mental or developmental challenges.
