Frank Stover plans to retire

Frank Stover Jr. will retire this summer after a 40-year career at Pelion High.

He was one of our longest serving and most distinguished agricultural educators. He was a 1977 PHS graduate and an officer of the Pelion FFA chapter and the SC FFA Association.

He is a graduate of Clemson University with a BS and MS. He has been recognized as an Outstanding Agricultural Educator by the State Association of Agricultural Educators and has been named Outstanding SC Farmer and Agri-business Chapter Advisor.

The SC Society of Soil and Water Conservation recognized Stover with their Honor Award for his leadership as a conservation educator.

He was awarded the Honorary American FFA Degree by the National FFA Organization and named Teacher of the Year at Pelion High.

Under his leadership, the Pelion Farmer and Agri-business Chapter was recognized numerous times as the Outstanding Chapter in the state and a number of members have served as state officers.

Mr. Stover leaves an impressive legacy as one of the outstanding Agricultural Education leaders in SC and the nation.

Pelion High graduated 146 students on June 8 with graduates receiving $13 million in scholarships.
