Free drive-thru covid-19 testing is coming to Lexington County.
The self-swab tests will be available at the CVS pharmacy at 2401 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia beginning Friday.
A CVS at 900 Assembly St., Columbia will also provide the tests.
Appointments must be scheduled in advance at CVS.com.
The tests will be self-administered inside vehicles supervised by a CVS technician.
Results will be available in about 3 days.
Free testing will also be provided:
In Irmo, 10 am - 3 pm Tuesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 11 at Crossroads Middle School, 6949 St. Andrews Road.
Irmo Mayor Barry Walker and SC Sen. Dick Harpootlian arranged the free testing for Irmo residents and others in the immediate area.
The testing will be a drivethru conducted by the Medical University of South Carolina so you will not be required to leave your vehicle.
No appointments are necessary.
Lexington Medical Center is partnering the tests with the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
