The Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Brienne C. Williams instructional coach at Gilbert High School, to assistant principal at GHS. A Lexington District One employee since 2008, Williams began her career as an English teacher at White Knoll High. She moved to Lexington Middle in 2010, serving as LMS’s English department chair from 2012 to 2016.

Williams joined GHS in 2016. She spent one year as an English teacher before becoming instructional coach and Expeditionary Learning coordinator in 2017. As instructional coach, she developed a school Work Plan with short and long-term goals. She aligned the role of GHS department chair with the Work Plan goals, facilitated weekly professional learning opportunities for staff, refined the structure of student-led conferences and implemented a community service project for 11th and 12th-graders. Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from Miami University, a Master of Education in K-12 reading from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Education in secondary educational administration from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, Columbia Area Reading Council and National Council of Teachers of English.
