Gilbert Council invites public

Gilbert Town Council plans 2 public hearings Monday, Oct. 11 at 7 pm at 345 Hampton St. The council will discuss and hold final readings and vote on a revised Business License Ordinance and an amendment to the Animal Control Ordinance. For details call 803-892-5207.

CONGRATULATIONS to Derrick Cooper on being chosen Most Influential Teacher of the Year at Gilbert High where he is the Future Farmers of America (FFA) teacher.

Congratulations to Billie Swygert who was chosen Teacher of the Year at Gilbert Middle where he teaches 6th grade ELA and Deanne Ricard Teacher of the Year at Gilbert Elementary.

Happy retirement to Steve Storey who is retiring as GHS head custodian. He looks forward to boating, fishing and traveling.

BEULAH United Methodist Church at 161 Beulah Church Rd. invites everyone to their annual yard sale Thursday, Oct. 7 - Saturday, Oct. 9 from 8 am to 3 pm. No donation is too small.

Hope Whittle Binkley says one of the best ways to give back is at Gilbert’s Blessing Boxes at Gilbert-Summit IGA and Beulah United Methodist Church. Non-perishable food items are accepted anytime.
