Beulah United Methodist Church invites the community to a steak supper December 1, 4-7 pm. Adult plates are $9 and a child’s plate is $6. There will also be an array of desserts.

“How Great Our Joy,” the carols of Christmas, is the theme of this year’s musical at Beulah. The church invites everyone to come to this family event December 2 at 6 pm. The program will include everyone’s favorite Christmas carols, and a Christmas message. Afterwards, everyone is invited to stay for a Christmas dinner and fellowship. The church is at 161 Beulah Church Road.

Gilbert Scouts Pack 60 helped place the Christmas lights in the Gilbert Community Park November 25. The lights will be turned on December 2 after the Christmas program held in the Gilbert Primary School cafeteria. This was a yearly community service project Pack 60 Scouts help with. Many volunteers from several organizations help place the Christmas lights each year.

The Gilbert-Summit Senior Center crafters invite the community to the Christmas craft sale December 1, 8 am-2 pm. For several months, these crafty crafters have been creating an array of Christmas decorations to sell. The sale is in the GSSC, 409 Broad Street in Gilbert. For information, call 892-5745.

Gilbert High School

invites you to its Trivia Night December 6 at 6 pm. This event is hosted by the GHS Softball in the cafeteria. The cost will be $7 for up to five persons per team. A cash prize of $100 dollars will be awarded to the winning team. Please RSVP to siminchew@lexington1.net .

Prior to their Thanksgiving break GHS students celebrated their substitute teachers with a Substitute Appreciation Day. GHS Student Council also hosted a Souper Thursday soup lunch for teachers and staff to celebrate American Education Week.

The Tween Extreme program at the Gilbert-Summit Branch Library, children in 4th through 7th grades will be making pet toys December 5 at 4 pm. The pet toys made by the students will go to shelter dogs and cats or for their own pets.

The library has a good selection of books for $3 a bag. There are many children’s books for sale, some books on CD and movie DVDs.
