Girl Scout donates to hospital

Posted

On Friday, May 1, the Lexington Medical Center Foundation received a donation from Calahan Moore, a local Girl Scout representing Troop 1639 and a 5th grade student at Pleasant Hill Elementary School.

When the covid-19 pandemic began, Calahan wanted to find a way to help. She decided to put her new 3-D printer to use, with a little help from her school’s Technology Assistant, Joel Bevers.

Calahan printed 200 personalized “ear savers,” used to relieve pressure from the ears when wearing medical masks. Each ear saver was imprinted with #SCStrong to provide hope and inspiration to the healthcare heroes at Lexington Medical Center.

Upon delivery, Calahan made sure to express her appreciation for all the healthcare workers and what they do on a daily basis to care for our community.
