3rd-graders at Midway Elementary School got an up-close look at an important resource with a lesson from a local expert.
John Oxner, district manager with the Lexington County Soil and Water Conservation District, visited the school to teach why soil is important and how to conserve it. His presentation correlated with third grade state science standards, allowing students to understand how irresponsible use of natural resources impact on the community and planet as a whole.
