Laurel Baptist Church is presenting Vacation Bible School June 25-29 for ages 2-years to 6th grade. The VBS is from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The Vacation Bible School includes a dinner at 5 p.m.  Laurel Baptist Church is at 2250 Pine St. West Columbia.

Airport High School’s graduating seniors received their diplomas during a June 5 ceremony at Eagle Stadium. The roughly 285 members of the Class of 2018 were cheered by family, friends, educators and others.

Under sunny skies, Brookland-Cayce High’s graduating seniors received their diplomas during a June 4 ceremony at Bearcat Stadium. About 220 graduates were cheered by family, friends, educators and others, as class speakers encouraged fellow graduates to go out into the world and “live a life you’re proud of.”

Laura Joseph of Cayce is working to increase Alzheimer’s awareness. Joseph left last Sunday to take on a 96-mile hike on the West Highland Way in Scotland to bring awareness to the struggles caused by those who suffer from Alzheimer’s. Joseph was inspired to help because her grandmother had the disease.
