If your birthday falls on Christmas, many are memorable. Some are good and some you’d like to forget.
My Mom always made a point to make sure I had a special surprise for my Birthday since everyone else was taking away a lot of the attention.
1969 was right in the height of my teenage years and, yes, before cell phones.
Heck if you got to use the house phone in the Frye household for more than 3 minutes that was a treat.
I remember my Dad saying “You can say everything you know in 3 minutes and after that you are repeating yourself.” So 1969 would be extra special for me.
On Christmas morning I woke to what I thought was an alarm clock going off under my bed and when I looked underneath I found my very own Princess telephone (a big deal for a teenage girl) and I had my own phone number.
I don’t know how my Mom talked Brooks Frye into that one, but it made me the coolest 15 year old.
