Would you go into debt shopping for Valentine’s Day gifts?

One study shows most men will.

A recent Wallethub survey found men are 3 times more likely than women to think a Valentine’s Day gift is worth going into credit card debt for. They’re twice as likely to spend over $100.

Men’s valentine gifts average $161.96.

That comes to a whopping $20.7 billion across the country each year.

This may sound romantic, but you gents may want to think again.

The survey found 46% say they would break up with their significant other if he or she spent irresponsibly.

4 in 10 people said irresponsible spending is a bigger turnoff than bad breath.

Credit card debt hit $1 trillion for the first time ever in 2018, Wallethub found.

Thinking of skipping gifts altogether and getting on one knee to show your commitment?

You’re not alone. 9 million marriage proposals are made each Valentine’s Day.

You may want to make sure your finances are in order first.

53% say they would not marry someone with bad credit.
