Introducing LUMC’s new pastors

Posted

Lexington United Methodist Church has 2 new pastors.

Senior Pastor Kim Eanes and Associate Pastor James “Jim” Rogers say they are prepared to keep the church growing and serving the Lexington Community.

Pastor Kim comes to LUMC from Cheraw. She was raised in the Midwest, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. She served in Iowa for 11 years until she was widowed in 2000.

She moved south for an 11-year stint in Aiken before taking a church in Cheraw.

Now in Lexington, her biggest challenges are the restrictions and limitations posed by the covid-19 pandemic. It is now more difficult to keep church family connected while social distancing and sharing the Gospel with children.

Her goals are to re-define what church is and continue missions locally and internationally.

Jim Rogers is from Blythewood and has been in ministry for 3 years. Prior to joining the staff at LUMC he was pastor for 2 small churches, Monticello UMC in Winnsboro, and Bethel UMC in Chester.

Pastor Rogers says he looks forward to getting to know the members at LUMC and seeking ordination.

Like Pastor Kim, he sees challenges in meeting them because of covid-19.
