This week’s Athlete of the Week honors goes to two players who put together impressive performances on the court to lead their team to victory.

A.J. Brand

A.J. Brand

Irmo’s A.J. Brand is off the football field and on the basketball court, appearing in his first two games this week.

He led his team in scoring during both games, recording 11 points in the loss to Lexington and 16 points in the win over Chapin. Brand was also effective on the glass, grabbing six rebounds in both contests. 

Brand scored 10 points in the third quarter during the team’s win over Chapin to help give Irmo its second win of the season.

Natalie Walke

Walke has had an impressive start to the year for Northside Christian. 

She scored 25 points, seven rebounds and seven steals in the team’s win over Spartanburg Christian. Walke followed that up with nine points, eight rebounds and four steals in a win over Greenwood Christian.

The senior is averaging 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals in the early part of her final campaign with the Crusaders.
