Vacation Bible School season is in full swing, if your church is holding a VBS, please let me know so that I can pass along that information here. First up will be the “Babylon” VBS hosted by Red Bank United Methodist Church. They’ll go from Monday through Friday, with a light supper served each evening before all the fun activities. This year’s mission project is raising money for sustainable farming in Haiti. For more information or to register, call the church office at 359-4031.

It may be summer but the reports of students doing great things continue to come in. Carolina Springs Middle School theater students recently participated in in the SC Speech and Theatre Association Middle School Festival. Out of 15 schools and over 250 students, CMS student Ella R. Johnsen won first place in Storytelling, and Marie Tidwell earned a third place in Oral Interpretation. In the Group Acting category, Jade Arguello, Madison Elrod, Monica Gootee, Rachel Lease, Kaylee Peele, Aubria Shaw, and Marie Tidwell made it to the finals, and Peele made it to the finals in Impromptu Speaking.
