It’s time to wear your ‘ugly sweater’

Holiday “ugly sweaters” are now in high fashion! On December 21, you can wear yous to the Ugly Sweater Christmas Party in Chapin on Beaufort Street! The fun starts at 8 pm. You could even wear your favorite sweater to the Chapin High School Choir winter concert December 13 at Chap-in Presbyterian Church, 7:30 pm.

The Town of Irmo will hold a special election March 3 to fill an open seat. Filing will open 8:30 am January 6 and close on January 17 at 5 pm. Filing fee is $35. Applications are available at the Irmo Town Hall, 7300 Woodrow Street. Call Renee Caviness at (803) 781-7050 for info.

In Loving Memory, a support group for parents who have lost a child, will hold its annual memorial service at the group’s Memorial Garden at Chapin Town Hall, 157 NW Columbia Ave., December 15 from 5-6 pm. Each year at Christmas time, tea candles are placed on memorial pavers in the garden. Parents enjoy fellowship, reflect on their children, enjoy the ambience of the garden and sing Christmas carols. Any parent who has lost a child is invited. Rain date for the event is December 18.
