Former MLB pitcher and Lexington County Blowfish head coach Jonathan Johnson was the guest speaker at the annual Lexington Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast held on Oct. 31.
Johnson shared about his work with “Honoring the Father” ministries work in Cuba and Nicaragua and how to be available to God’s call in your life.
“My purpose in life wasn’t to be great at professional baseball,” Johnson said. “God was just using that as a platform for His purpose for my life; which is to honor Him and bring Him glory.” Johnson, was a former MLB 1st round pick by the Texas Rangers.

Fans can now vote on team’s 2020 jersey
The Lexington County Blowfish have adopted a 2020 Summer Olympics theme for the upcoming season.
As part of the campaign, the theme will don “Red, White and Blowfish” colored jerseys. A total of 4 styles have been developed and the team now wants the fans to select the 2020 Team Blowfish jersey:
•white jersey/red sleeves
•white jersey/blue sleeves
•white jersey/blue & red sleeves
•red jersey/blue sleeves
Fans can visit www.goblowfishball.com to make their choice. After the initial voting, the top 3 chosen will be announced on Nov. 15. Voting will then continue to whittle down to the top 2 jerseys and will be announced Dec. 15.
The final voting on the remaining 2 jerseys will wind down Dec. 31 and the winner will be announced at the Blowfish’s January Media Luncheon.
