Are you concerned about the growth in the Chapin area? Timberlake Country Club is hosting an open forum with former Chap-in Architectural Review Board member and school board member Ken Loveless, and county Councilwoman Erin Long Bergeson. The forum will be held March 7 at 6:30 pm.

Remember your prom? In high school, I remember wanting to make a “wow” appearance on prom night. My 80’s hair, memorialized in a photo, now evokes a different kind of “wow.” My favorite prom was when my then-boyfriend and I crashed his brother’s high school prom. No one could figure out who I was and why we were there. I had a blast! Leeza’s Care Connection in Irmo is hosting a “Time After Time Senior Prom” fundraiser March 8. This event is for all students and all seniors who remember those bygone days. The event will be at 7582 Woodrow Street, Irmo, from 6:30 to 9 pm. Christian Athletes at Chapin, High and Spring-hill are having the first Cornhole tournament for March 23 starting at 10 am at Crooked Creek Park. To register, visit the northernmidlandsfca.org

Midlands art lovers can enjoy the Crooked Creek Art League’s Juried Art Show in March through April 29 at Crooked Creek Park. The show includes 2D and 3D photography plus paintings and drawings.

Congratulations to Olivia Jackson of Seven Oaks Elementary school for being the Student of the Month at the Rotary Club of Lake Murray.

The Lexington County Stormwater Consortium will host a “Build Your Own Rain Barrel” Workshop March 15, 8:45 am to noon in an effort to educate citizens on rainwater harvesting and stormwater conservation. The event will be held at the Lexington County Public Works garages at 440 Ball Park Road.
