Kids design Peanut Party t-shirts

The Pelion Peanut Party Steering Committee and the Pelion Women’s Club gave students pictures of peanuts and asked them to color and design them. The pictures will appear on t-shirts before and during the Pelion Peanut Party.

The winning entries were: Forts Pond Elementary School, Joseph Pittman and Mack Webb. Pelion Elementary School, Sidney Hansen and Kai’bryelle Green. Pelion Middle School, Ava Poole and Isabella Jimenez-Pacheco. Pelion High School, Hayden Welch and Allison Covin.

DON’T FORGET the Legacy Ride Oct. 9. The bikers will come through Pelion between 10 and 10:30 am. Everyone is asked to meet at the crossroads and wave American flags. Donations may be made to American Legion Post 101, PO Box 373, Pelion, SC 29123 and 100% of donations go to scholarships for children of fallen and disabled veterans.

GOOD CITIZENSHIP Citation Awards were presented to Donald Leaden, Noah Holland, and Jacob Dennis at the American Legion Post 101 meeting. Ryan McCabe also presented a House Resolution recognizing David Mills for his outstanding military career.

Sharon Perry was presented with a quilt of valor at the meeting.
