AROUND LEXINGTON COUNTY

There were many events in Lexington last week.

Wellmore hosted Lexington Chamber of Commerce members Thursday with a margarita-themed party, which coincided with Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican celebration of defeating the French.

Guests mingled on the back patio to enjoy tacos, grilled chicken, pork, plantains, tortilla chips and more. The Pantasia Steel Band and margaritas set the Mexican mood.

Among those attending were the Well-more staff, Amy Quenville, Otis Rawl, Adam DeLoach, Sondra Gettys, Bunnie and Don Hagenlocher, Bill Lesesne, Kathy Nordan Foster, Paul Hausman, Tom Ledbetter, Shelley Metropol, Brie Gonzales, Chase Colbert, Joel Merrill, Jimmy Ingram, Jeff Howle, Sandra Crawford, Harry Deith, Bobby Cousins, Doris Reynolds, Karen Rusher, Howard Rawl, Robin Betsell-Cohen, Donna B. Shealy, Pam and Steve Doyle, and Jeremy Thomason.

The annual wine and cheese event to benefit SisterCare was held at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Friday. It was an evening of good food prepared by church members and fellowship. Suporting this worthwhile cause were Rev. Tom and Miranda DiMarco, Peggy Moseley, Rose Wilkins, Daisy Harman, MacLeod and Jerry Bellune, Sarah Weiss, Anne Brooks, Melinda and Frank Young, Pandra Lemroe, Sam McCuen, Laura and Doug Catoe, Mary and Jerry Howard, Gay Clark, Catherine Sharpe, Sheri Kimball, Becky and David Hipp, Caroline and Charles Alexander, Gloria Talley, Jeanette and Richard Bramlett, Pat and Henry Hardee, Arthur Simons, Betty and Irvin Shaw, JoDee Douda, Jo Counts, Jeanette and Randal Ford, Bobby Dial, Mary Townhill, Eddie Crosby, Jean and John Testruth, Darlene and Mike Butler, Dawn Beaver, Mary Alice Lorick, Bernie and Lewis Brunson, Melanie and Dave Dunnagan, Anne Clark, V.J. Shealy, Cindi and Mike Geason, Paul Judson, Lisa Kempf, Nancy Lind, June Mattox, Joy and Greg Moore, Cathy and Randy Lanier, George Carson, and Bill Linder playing the guitar.

The Icehouse Amphitheater presented the popular band, The Tams, on Thursday evening. Ann Bull was there and reports a delightful evening. Among those attending were Marlene and Dean Wheeler, Brenda and Mack Maxwell, Kathy Maness, Pat Crigley, Karen Smith, Terry and Sam Cheatham, Alecia C. Quinton, Jimmy Burton, Marth and Don Pridgen, Gay Clark, Eve and Bob Wall, Sandy Perkins, Marilyn and Norman Boyd, Amy Landon Berry, Leslie and Scott Callison, Jerry Wells, Kathy Wells, Loretta Smith Goebbel, and Jerry Goebbel.

On Saturday, Tea for LaVie was held at Lexington United Methodist Church. The decorations were lovely and ladies wore their finest apparel and hats. Flo Johnson won the hat contest and Table 18 won the table contest Among those attending were SuanneMoore Carver, Joyce Mize, Judy Knight, Josephine Venner, Joan Condra, Ingred Sperber, Judy Klass, Andrea Colt, Sandra Bruant, Patty Sue Pye, Eloise Hiers, Sylvia Skipper, Ruth Chapman, Linda Gladden, and Maria Semallas.
