Legacy ride rescheduled

Posted

The American Legion Legacy Ride April 25-26 is cancelled but if you want to make a donation please contact Post Commander Mark Bays at 803-931- 2355 or District Commander David Mills.

Donations are tax deductible. 100% goes to scholarships for students of fallen or wounded military personnel.

The Legacy Ride will be rescheduled sometime in October and plans will be announced as soon as available.

All April meetings have been cancelled. This includes Order of Eastern Star, Masonic Order, Town Council, Women’s Club and most church services. I hope things will begin to settle soon and schedules will get back to normal. Please remember to keep your distance, wash your hands often, respect others, support your local restaurants with their carry-out menus, and check on the elderly to make sure they are ok.

Happy birthday to Debbie Padgett, Gaynelle Williamson, and Brandy Babbel.

Happy anniversary to Ron and Debra Corder and George and Linda Sanders.

I’ve Talked to several folks who are home schooling with the assistance of assignments from their teachers. It has been interesting to hear them tell how fast their kids are whipping through assignments that are suppose to last a week.

Tax season reminds me of what Soupy Sales said: “I figured out why Uncle Sam wears such a tall hat. It comes in handy when he passes it around.” Mortimer Caplan, ex-IRS director: “There is one difference between a tax collector and a taxidermist. The taxidermist leaves the hide.”

April 25 would have been the 28th anniversary for me and my precious Benny. No words can describe how difficult it has been without him.

I thank all my family and friends for keeping in touch and helping me try to cope with this great loss.

You can help me with any personal, family, business or other news of our area.

Just email KayCollings@earthlink.net
