Lexington 2 schools gave back to the community in a big way during February’s Souper Bowl of Caring. They collected 5,240 cans and other nonperishable foods. The donations translated into more than 5,000 pounds of food that will provide just over 4,000 meals for those in need in the local community, according to Harvest Hope Food Bank’s Kristy McLellan. Pine Ridge Middle was the top collector. From top left: Logan Crandall, Trevor Williams, Andrew Hudson, Lamaria Burgess, Jade Rodriguez, Marleen Reyes-Cruz, Allison Castillo, Zyon Hammond, Ellen Cassanova, Macie McCracken, Kimberly Rojas, and Caylee Freeman.
