Posted

33-year-old Lexington resident James Austen Gillespie was sentenced to 15 years in a federal prison after pleading guilty to the production of child sex abuse materials.

During the trial, evidence was presented showing that on July 11, 2021, Gillespie had edited two pictures using his phone of a nude minor child with himself in them.

In addition to his 15-year prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Sherri A. Lydon also sentenced Gillespie to a lifetime of court-mandated supervision, a payment of $25,000 in restitution to his victims and he has to register as a sex offender, according to the press release.

Gillespie will not be eligible for parole.
