Lexington woman named top DSS employee

Lauren Staudt has been named an SCDSS employee of the month.

Staudt is the supervisor for group home licensing.

The South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Employee of the Month programs recognizes staff whose work exemplifies competence, courage and compassion.

Staudt supervises 9 staff members who are responsible for regulating Child Placing Agencies and Group Homes by ensuring that the more than 1,400 private agency foster homes and over 90 group homes have met the requirements for licensure.

Staff selected as part of the Employee of the Month Program are awarded lunch with the acting State Director along with other honorees, a dedicated parking space, a photo and write-up displayed at State Office.

Fresenius Kidney Care will open a new facility in Gaston.

The clinic, which can treat a maximum of 120 patients a week, enables Fresenius Kidney Care’s local team of expert medical professionals to better serve the Lexington County area’s growing dialysis community. In South Carolina, more than 9,800 people living with end stage renal disease are on dialysis

The dialysis center will host a community open house celebration Tuesday, May 21 at 5301 Hwy 321, Gaston.
