How is your stay at home and social distancing going?
I am really enjoying the grocery store visits.
The van’s gas mileage has improved. I’m getting more than 3 weeks of traveling with over a full tank left in my van.
I have sneezed in my van frequently but the van has tested negative for seasonal pollen allergies. This is good for all cars, obeying social distancing while driving.
Rebecca Hines, director of the Chapin Chamber of Commerce, is being quite creative in her ways to adapt.
Her husband Derrick works for the University of South Carolina in the College of Education. Rebecca said that even though he is an educator, things are quite different when you are teaching your own children.
Derrick is balancing teaching students and their two daughters. Rebecca said that losing the structure of a daily routine has been an adjustment. I’m sure she isn’t the only one who feels that way.
Many of us still working are trying to figure out the balance of work and home.
We are trying to use this time to slow down and enjoy simple things together as a family. In the evenings, the Hines family has been going on walks and making sure the girls play outside .
Rebecca said that before this they were busy and took little time to stop and enjoy the moments as much as they should have. She encourages us to appreciate the blessings in disguise right now.
