Do you feel overweight or have less energy? If so, let’s max your metabolism. A metabolic fast provides your body with nutrients to stimulate your metabolism. Start by drinking 100 oz. (12.5 cups) of water a day. Drinking 17 oz. (2 cups) of water increases your metabolism by 10-30% for an hour. Allow your body to feel hunger, this will burn calories. Increase protein in your diet to increase your metabolic rate by 10-30%. Low fat meat, nuts, eggs and some dairy products are high in protein and low in carbohydrates. Use coconut oil in cooking. Eat whey protein, white fish, shrimp and scallops. Also eat clear broths, sugar free popsicles and gelatin. Avoid bread, rice, pasta, cereal, potatoes, beans, crackers, sweets and fatty dairy products. Eat 5 servings of vegetables a day such as lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, spinach, cabbage, squash, mushrooms and onions. Green tea can boost metabolism 4-5% and coffee can from 3-11%. Try not to sit for long periods at work. Standing can burn about 174 calories over the course of your work day. Do 45-60 minutes of cardio exercises daily. Do not overwork yourself. Lack of sleep can decrease how many calories you burn and how you process sugar. Make sure to keep a daily log to track your progress.
