Mayors work harder than you think

Ever wonder what your town mayor does? There is more to the job than monthly meetings. Small town mayors work, sometimes daily, to improve life for their residents. The Quail has attended town meetings for years and I can tell you, these mayors and councils donate a lot of their time to their elected positions.

To name a few, Gaston’s Mayor Troy Bivens, Wagener’s Mayor Mike Miller, Pelion’s Mayor Frank Shumpert and North’s Mayor Julius Jones have improved their towns since they were elected. It’s not been easy, especially during the pandemic, but these mayors put their towns first. Next time you see your mayor or council member, please thank them.
