State officials are working with the hospitality industry to fight human trafficking.
Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the Human Trafficking Task Force and the SC Restaurant and Lodging Association have partnered in the fight against traffickers.
They will focus on training members of the hospitality industry, ensuring businesses have safe response protocols.
The Task Force is comprised of local, state, and federal law enforcement, state agencies, non-profit organizations, professional associations, and others committed to the anti-human trafficking movement.
Over 2,200 member restaurants, lodging companies and industry-related service providers make the hospitality industry South Carolina’s largest employer and 1 of the state’s most public service-oriented industries.
