New assistant principal named at Brookland-Cayce High School

Assistant administrator and current math teacher at Brookland-Cayce High School Ryan Van Omen has been named as the new assistant principal at the same school.

Omen was recommended by school district superintendent Brenda Hafner and was approved at the Board of Trustees’ Aug. 1 meeting.

Omen graduated from Brookland-Cayce in 2015 and received a bachelor’s from the University of South Carolina and a master’s in education from Grand Canyon University.

“I am so excited to take on this new role in the district and school that not only raised me, but has been my home ever since. As I transition into this role, I hope to continue to serve our Brookland-Cayce community while holding tight to my teacher roots to ensure that our educators feel empowered and our students receive the best education possible!,” Omen said in the press release.
