New rule for concerts, stadiums, theaters

Posted

Movie theaters, sports arenas and concert halls may operate – but with few attending.

Gatherings will be limited to 250 people or 50% of occupancy, whichever is less.

That’s Gov. Henry McMaster’s latest covid-19 order including:

• Masks will be required for admission.

• Social distancing and hygiene practices must be followed.

• Face coverings will be mandatory in SC government buildings.

• Alcohol sales must end at 11 pm.

McMaster said, “These measures give South Carolina the best chance to slow the spread of the virus without shutting down the state’s economy.”

Now-mandated restaurant guidelines, established by AccelerateSC, also limit dine-in services to no more than 50% capacity.

They also require employees and patrons to wear masks or face coverings.

Tables must be spaced at least 6 feet apart.

No more than 8 customers a table unless part of the same family.

Other businesses required to obey the restrictions include amphitheaters, gyms and parks.
