Gilbert-Summit Senior Center members will have a busy October. Director Donna Neel, tells us the members began the month with a tour of the Robert Mills House “Scarecrows in the Garden” exhibit and went as a group to the annual yard sale at Beulah United Methodist Church.

Crafters instructed members in making a stone photo holder, fall hat wreaths, pumpkin slime, and pumpkin socks. The members attended Senior Day at the SC State Fair. They will end the month with a Halloween party and a costume contest. Members would like the community to attend their Meals on Wheels Christmas Craft Show November 16, 8 am-1 pm.

Seniors 55 and older can exercise with Tony Diaz at the center each week. Referred to as Classic Fit, this exercise program is designed for seniors to improve their strength and mobility. Classes are for four weeks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:15-10 am. Cost is $24 a month. For information, call 892-5745.
