OktoberFest was great despite rain

AROUND LEXINGTON COUNTY

Everyone looks forward to the annual OktoberFest hosted by Lori Moroz, owner of Pine Press Printing on Ellis Avenue in Lexington, and by Weichert Realty. Rain and colder temperatures did not deter guests from attending this festive event.

Guests were treated to authentic German fare of pork roast, bratwurst, sauerkraut, spatzle and a variety of breads and desserts. Warm pretzels were available as well as face painting and balloon art for younger guests. A DJ entertained the crowd, which had a chance to bid at a silent auction. Proceeds are to benefit the Midlands Special Needs Foundation.

Among those attending were Bunnie and Don Hagenlocher, Ron Williams, Angie and Ken Shuler, Debbie Landis, Tracy Fredrychowski, Kyle Kelly, Sylvia Bachman, Rose Howard, Michael Joseph, Eileen Karges and Alex Adams.

Ladies of the Lexington Network of Female Executives enjoyed a treat for their October meeting last Tuesday. They met at the newly opened Cinnamon Hill House and Garden Event Center. It was hosted by owner Dawn LaRocque. A delicious catered dinner was served.

Speaker was Janet Lehman, a club member who is associated with Jumper, Carter, Sease Architects in West Columbia. She told the history of her company and the importance of cultivating and maintaining business relationships. She also demonstrated some visual design tools that her firm uses in its design work and presentations.

Village Square Theatre announces the upcoming production of MASH 4077th. This stands for mobile army surgical hospital. It is staffed by two of the best chest surgeons in South Korea, Hawkeye and Duke.

The theater is pleased to partner with the Alston Wilkes Society in a charitable donation drive to honor our veterans in advance, and during, this presentation. Dates are November 9 through November 18. For tickets and information call 803-359-1436.

Linda Griffith reports the Veterans Dinner on November 10 starts at 5 pm, not 6 pm.

Congratulations to River Bluff High School Principal Lucas Clamp on being named 2019 National Principal of the Year! What an honor he has received and Lexington is proud.
