Weekend stabbing suspect arrested

A Swansea man accused of stabbing a man Saturday was arrested Monday at his home.

Marshal Adam Hogston, 25, is charged with attempted murder, carjacking and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“Witnesses have told detectives a man with multiple stab wounds was dropped off in front of a home in the 300 block of Havenwood Drive Saturday afternoon,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Based on our review of the evidence, Hogston got into the victim’s car and drove away. They had arrived at that location in the victim’s car just moments before.”

The victim is in serious condition, according to his medical team at a local hospital.

“Initially, we had very little information to go on after our response to the Havenwood Drive location,” Koon said. “A careful review of security video from multiple locations, including a nearby gas station, was instrumental in identifying Hogston.”

Hogston’s being held in the Lexington County Detention Center after a magistrate judge denied his bond Tuesday morning.

Man dies on Hermitage Road

A Lexington man died in single vehicle accident in the 300 block of Hermitage Road Jan. 20.

Richard Tyler Hook, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Hook’s vehicle veered off of the left side of the road, collided with a utility pole, and overturned. Hook, the only occupant of the vehicle, was wearing a seat belt.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

Gaston man arrested on drug, gun charges

Lexington County narcotics agents arrested a man originally wanted on traffic charges after they found drugs in his pocket.

Dustin Kirk Partin, 30, is charged with trafficking meth, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II narcotic, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule IV narcotic, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a pistol, and operation of a chop shop, according to arrest warrants.

Agents recovered 24 grams of meth, 2 grams of heroin, Xanax, Adderall and 2 guns, Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

Investigators also recovered a motorcycle with an altered serial number plate, according to Koon.

Partin was arrested at the Fallaw Road home. He’s been released from the Lexington County Detention Center after meeting conditions of his bond.

Columbia man arrested after car chase

A man accused of attempted murder was arrested last Thursday after leading deputies on a crosscounty chase.

Devin Richard Boineau, 29, was also wanted for breach of trust and possession of a weapon during a violent crime when he initiated a pursuit with Richland County deputies.

The chase continued along Interstates 26 and 77 through Richland and Lexington counties.

Lexington County deputies plan to charge Boineau with failure to stop for blue lights, receiving stolen goods and possession of a stolen vehicle, according to Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

The attempted murder charge against Boineau stems from a Dec. 3 incident near Gaston in which he’s accused of shooting a man, according to an arrest warrant.

Boineau is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
