The Pelion Peanut Party will hold its first Car and Bike Show November 3, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Judging begins at noon. This event will be at Pelion Middle School and proceeds will benefit the youth programs sponsored by the Pelion American Legion Post 101.

Deadline for entries is November 1. Entry fees are $20 for cars and $10 for bikes. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for all classes. Contact Pelion American Legion Post 101 on Facebook or dfmills61@gmail.com or phone 803-360-0572 for entry information.

The Pelion Peanut Party will host the 5K color run/walk on November 3. Registration begins at 7 a.m.; race time is 9 a.m. Location is the Pelion Police Department at 537 Pelion Road. Registration fees are $30 pre-race and $35 race day. Children 12 and under are $12. A t-shirt is included in the price. Congratulations to Forts Pond Elementary teacher Lizzy for getting a Mid-Carolina Bright Ideas Grant for her 3-D printer!

Hadley Rawl placed third in the Lexington 4H All Breed Show in the Short Break event.

Pelion Library will

host technology training on October 17 at 10:30 a.m. for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Preschool storytime is October 17 at 11 a.m. for ages 2-5 years. October 13 is Yarn Art at 10 a.m. for ages 13 and up. This event is for beginner and advanced crafters.

Books and Beyond hosts a pizza party October 16 at 3:30 p.m. honoring National Pizza Month. This event is for Grades K-5. Spine Crackers book club meets October 17 at 3 p.m. for ages 18 and up. The club will be reading “The Knock at the Door.”

Pelion varsity football plays Swansea October 12. It is the Hall of Fame game. The Cross Country region meet will be at 5 p.m. at Pelion High on October 17.

Forts Pond Elementary School Parent Conference is October 12; there will be no school for students. October 15 is “Wear Blue” for bullying prevention and awareness month.

Happy Birthday to June and Jerome.

Pelion Senior Center begin their coloring contest on October 12. Entries are due by October 31. Operation Shoebox continues on October 16.
