Pelion offender held for attempted murder

A Pelion man has been arrested in a domestic violence incident in Swansea.

Bryan Scott Swann, 47, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, probation violation, failure to stop for blue lights on a bench warrant.

According to police, Lexington County officers responded to a home in Swansea Jan.

22. Officers interviewed the 49-year-old victim who had wounds and blood on her.

She told police Swann came to her home where they began arguing over him being jealous that a man asked her to go camping.

Swann pushed her against a door, causing lacerations and injuries to her arm.

Swann then held a box cutter against the victim’s neck, stating he was going to kill her.

A judge denied bond on the charges. The probation violation bond amount was set at $75,000.

Swann has been convicted of 2nd degree kidnapping in North Carolina in 2004. He is also a registered sex offender.

Swann plead guilty in Spartanburg County to 3 charges of assault and battery and malicious injury valued at more than $10,000 after he drove an SUV through a woman’s house in Oct. 2015.

He was sentenced to a suspended 3-year, concurrent sentence to be followed by 5 years probation.

Swann owns and operates Swann Masonry in Gaston, according to his Facebook page.
