Pelion High will host the “Beat Gilbert Car Smash” October 28, 29, and 30, 11 amuntil 2 pm. You can get 3 swings at the car for only $1. Attend and have a smashing good time.

Pelion Library will

hold technology training October 23 at 10:30 am for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Preschool story time is October 23 at 11 am for ages 1-5 years. Lexington County Master Gardeners will present a session on how to grow herbs for culinary or medicinal use October 19 at 10 am. This event is for ages 18 and up. Tweens will use a combination of smarts and skills to solve puzzles, beat the clock and complete the ultimate goal to escape the haunted park October 24 at 6 pm. This event is for grades 4-12.

The Pelion Panthers play at Swansea October 23 at 7:30 pm. Cross Country meets Gilbert October 23 at 5 pm. Varsity football plays Strom Thurmond at home October 25 at 7:30 pm. This game will be Senior Night.

The Competitive Cheer Lake Murray Invitational meets October 26 at Irmo High School.

Pelion Elementary students are enjoying the Book Vending machine purchased by the PTO. Students earn tokens for following the Lifelong Guidelines and Lifeskills while they are at school. Second graders began taking the CogAT and Iowa tests October 15. Student report cards go home October 25. Pelion Elementary will hold a free flu shot clinic October 25 at 10 am. Panther Moms will meet October 25 at 7 am in the cafeteria.
