Pine Ridge Halloween threat

A 12-year-old Pine Ridge Middle School student was charged Halloween day with threatening students.

Police reports indicate the female student told 2 students she was going to kill them.

A Lexington County deputy questioned the student.

The student told officers she threatened others after they told her to “shut up” multiple times while working on a group project.

The suspect told officers she did not carry any weapons to school and there are no weapons in her home.

Her name will not be released because she’s under age 18.

She was released to her parents’ custody.

Her parents did not consent to a search of their home for weapons but stated they do not have weapons in the house.

A search of the student’s book bag found no weapons.

The student has been suspended from school pending a hearing and will appear in Lexington County Family Court at a later date.

This is the 2nd threat at Pine Ridge Middle School this school year.

In the 1st incident Sept. 30, a 12-year-old male threatened on social media to bring a gun to school and use it against another student.

That student was charged with threats against a school and released to the custody of his parents.
