Planning to take a stay-cation?

Many Lexington County families are reconsidering summer vacation plans. Regular unleaded gas is at $2.45 a gallon at discount stations and headed for $3. That’s forcing many to cancel that trip to Disney World and take short day trips or just stay home. Fears of hurricane season damage to Gulf state oil producers and refiners could drive prices even higher. One positive note: U.S. shale will continue its breakneck growth rate into 2019. The oil market still faces serious supply risks from the potential losses from Venezuela and Iran. The International Energy Agency reported subsidies and price regulation in oil producing countries intended to ease rising fuel prices. Yet, the IEA said, oil prices are significantly higher than a year ago.
