WEEK 0 RAINOUT

Dutch Fork’s highly-anticipated season-opener against Mallard Creek (N.C.). last Saturday at Memorial Stadium was cancelled due to bad weather.

The start of the game was delayed until 10:30 p.m. when officials decided not to play.

The game will not be rescheduled and the Silver Foxes will play their season-opener Friday at home against Spring Valley. They will look to extend a 12-game winning streak.

PLAYING FOR “TJ”

The Gilbert High School football team is wearing special decals on the back of their helmets this season in memory of Timothy “TJ” Langfitt. The former wrestler was killed in a car accident in Batesburg-Leesville on June 12, just 11 days after graduating with honors.

QUOTABLE

“Our kids have a lot of fight. Our kids don’t give up. We had a tough preseason schedule... but we preach everyday you’ve got to fight. You’re never going to be the most talented team and the fastest team. But, we can be the most physical team and we play with the best effort and I think our kids did that tonight.” - Lexington head football coach Perry Woolbright following the 28-21 victory over Irmo. The Wildcats rallied from a 14-point deficit in the second half.
