State Rep. Mac Toole announced last week that he will not seek re-election.

Toole represents District 88 in Red Bank and Oak Grove, in addition to South Congaree, Pine Ridge and Edmund.

Toole served on the Lexington 2 School Board from 1996-2000, and Lexington County Council District 5, from 2001-2002.

Local business owner and retired SC Air National Guard Msgt Brian Duncan announced Friday his plan to seek the Republican nomination in the primary this June for SC House of Representatives District 88.

In the coming weeks, Duncan plans to release his Action Plan for District 88. His campaign says they are well funded and prepared to best serve the citizens of this district.

“I think that this is all about the future. After much thought and prayer, I am ready to dedicate my service to the people that call our community home,” Duncan said.

Small business owner RJ May announced Tuesday morning he is considering a bid as well.

May is president and founder of Ivory Tusk Consulting, a Lexington County-based campaign strategy firm.

May says he will announce his decision soon.
