Restaurant feeds essential workers

Primal Gourmet Kitchen + Market Owner Greg Martin donated boxed lunches to all City of West Columbia essential employees last week.

West Columbia Police, fire, sanitation, parks, maintenance, water/sewer, water plants, finance, building, customer service, planning and zoning, court, and administration came to the open area near the Community Garden at City Hall to pick up a cheeseburger or turkey burger, cooked on-site by the owner of Primal Gourmet, a pasta side, and a drink.

Throughout the covid-19 crisis, Primal Gourmet Kitchen + Market has provided over 4,200 meals to frontline workers across the midlands including healthcare workers, first responders, municipalities, and other essential employees.

“We are so thankful for all that they’ve done to improve our culinary offerings and give back to our community,” West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles said.

“The support from the West Columbia community, since establishing this location almost a year ago, has been great,” said Primal Gourmet Kitchen + Market Owner Greg Martin.

“During the covid-19 Crisis, we wanted to give back to the community and surrounding areas who have supported us over this year.“
