River Walk reopens after floods

Posted

The Cayce Riverwalk has reopened after several weeks of rain and flooding.

“We are thankful for our hard-working city staff that managed the clean up and reopening,” read a message from the city.

And Cayce is not the only city reopening its portion of Riverwalk. The West Columbia Riverwalk Park and Amphitheater was opened to the public Feb. 27. Vistors should avoid any areas set off by cones.

The Cayce Department of Public Safety reported a structure fire at Knights Inn on Airport Blvd. Friday around 8 p.m. The fire was contained and there were no reported injuries. An investigation into the cause is ongoing. The motel had been closed by the city.

there’s a newHampton Inn and Suites coming to Sunset Boulevard between West Columbia and Lexington. It’s between Northside Baptist Church and the Enterprise Car Rental site. A sign says it’s opening in the spring of 2020, but there is not a more specific date.
